Abstract: Considering a proposal of Physical Education in Secondary School, we believe that the student, besides to receive information, should be motivated and qualified to search the information and the necessary physical conditioning for his integration in the social world, making use of the research and daily experiences. For this purpose, we intended to look for analysis alternatives, through a Paradigm of socialization/sociabilization, valuing the Human Formation and the Ability that make possible the development of the Physical Education in the 1 st grade of Secondary School and that prioritizes a practice for commitment. The General Objective was to enable 1st grade' students of Secondary School to develop, with autonomy, program of physical conditioning to improve the sporting performance and/or the level of physical aptitude related to the health. The methodological development counted on 28 adolescents' participation, 10 male and 18 female, who were students from the 1st grade of Escola Estadual de 2° Grau Rui Barbosa in the city of Ijuí-RS. Those Students received three weekly classes that represent 112 classes of Physical Education during the year of 1999. The content of the discipline included theoretica1 and practical knowledge at general and specific level of the motive force abilities, resistance, speed and flexibility, besides the contents chosen by the students and foreseen for the School. The Analysis' method of Content by BARDIN was applied to the declarations of other disciplines' teachers, to the pedagogic coordination and to the involved students. For the Cognitive Tests, Motors and Anthropometric Measures during the four bimesters was used the desctritive statistics. The general results in the end of the school year, besides the quantitative results of the cognitive, motor and anthropometric performance of the students, we registered the qualitative manifestations of the teachers, the pedagogic coordination and the students as: "It was very constructive what we have learned this year, how it is important to practice physical exercises correctly. Physical Education is much more important than I have thought. The classes are different from the ones I have already done, they were very attractive, funny, and the students have participated on the activities because they were enjoying that, and not because it was an obligation. The teacher have listened to the students. When I became motivated for the classes I stopped missing them and I tried to enjoy the activities as much as possible.
