▼ Love River, 12 km in length from inland to the sea, is the longest river in Kaohsiung. Love River passes through the harbor of Kaohsiung and connects with the sea bring hidden ecological crises. Because there are persistent shipping from the whole world, several shipyards and fishing ports in the harbor of Kaohsiung, the pollution of organotin is very serious in the harbor area. Itâs possible that Love River may be polluted by the seawater from the harbor of Kaohsiung for the long intertidal zone and the estuary, in the harbor of Kaohsiung. Upstream sections may be also polluted by organotin compounds from domestic, industrial and agricultural wastewater. This study is not only collecting the surface and bottom riverwater during winter and summer, but also sampling the sediments in Love River. These samples are derivated with NaBEt4 and analyzed the concentration of organotin by gas chromatograph with a flame photometric detector. The results reveal that concentrations of MBT are 8.2-25.0 ng/L as tin, DBT are 3.3-17.1 ng/L as tin, TBT are 4.3-9.1 ng/L as tin in the riverwater. The concentrations of MBT are 12.5-69.2 ng/g as tin, DBT are 7.1-31.2 ng/g as tin, TBT are 15.8-22.6 ng/g as tin in the surface sediments. The pollution of organotin decrease from the harbor of Kaohsiung to the water gate in the downstream. A peak of pollution is found near the Yu-Cheng bridge in the upstream. The concentrations of the vertical distribution of sediments, MBT are as high as 61.2-273.2 ng/g as tin, DBT are 22.8-256.2 ng/g as tin, TBT are 8.6-168.4 ng/g as tin, it indicates that Love River was polluted extremely seriously by organotin compounds in the past. However, phenyltin compounds were not detected in these samples. As compared with previous reports, today the pollution of organotin compounds has been greatly reduced in Lover River. But it remains to be cared in order to reduce the potential ecological crises which are brought by the pollution. ▼ The main research of this thesis includes three sections. The purpose of first part is to develop a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for simultaneous determination of 8 macrolide antibiotics and lincosamides inside fish tissue, including erythromycin (ERM), oleandomycin (OLD), kitasamycin (KIT), tylosin (TYL), josamycin (JOS), spiramycin (SPM), tilmicosin (TIL), and lincomycin (LIN). Homogenized samples are first extracted with acetonitrile, dehydrated with sodium sulphate anhydrous, and then condensed. After the residue was redissolved in methanol and the extracts were partitioned with n-hexane to remove lipids, the sample is filterced and detected by LC/MS-MS using chromatography columns of Agilent HC-C18 (5Î¼m, 150 mm Ã4.6 mm). The mobile phase A was 5mM ammonium acetate containing 0.1% formic acid, while the mobile phase B was acetonitrile. The analysis of 8 macrolide antibiotics and lincosamides can be achieved within 10 minutes with electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry in positive mode using multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) for simultaneous detection. The second part is to verify the method by regulation of European Union (EU) resolution scheme (2002/657/EC). In the case where the drug is set as allowed drug, the recovery rate under gradient addition according to MRL is between 93.64% to 106.67%, and the CV is between 0.27% to 7.17%. In the case where the drug is set as prohibited drug, the recovery rate under gradient addition according to MRPL is between 96.35%~104.88%, and the CV is between 6.77%~13.91%. As a result, the decision limit (CCÎ±) and the Detection capability (CCÎ²) of the 8 macrolide antibiotics and lincosamides is between 0.24 to 0.40Î¼g kg-1 and 0.33 to 0.49Î¼g kg-1. The last section is to evaluate the stability of drugs in fish body under domestic preservation and process methods on fish, including refrigeration at -20â and cold storage at 4 â. The test is implemented by adding the drug into fish tissue according to MRL and detecting the antibiotics residue after regulated 40 days. Besides, the effect on activity of drug residue in fish body after boiling at 100 â is compared. The results show that the residual amount of spiramycin, josamycin, tilmicosin, and lincomycin is below 35% while that of erythromycin, oleandomycin, kitasamycin, and tylosin will be below 20%. Therefore, the drugs including erythromycin, josamycin, tylosin, and lincomycin will stay stably in fish tissue if they are stored under -20 â. However, it may affect human health if the fish contains such antibiotic residues is not boiled. ▼ Abstract The objective of this study is to investigate the heavy metal pollution in our environment by sampling and analyzing the concentration of heavy metal in seawater, sediment, and aquatic organisms from the seaside along the Chang-hua Coastal Industrial Park. The Chang-hua Coastal Industrial Park, located by the west coast of Chung-hua county in middle Taiwan, is a large-scale and multi-functional industrial estate with industrial production, residence and leisure possibilities. Hsienhsi District is situated at the northern part of the Industrial Park. Lukang District is at the southern part. In the middle of it, it is Lunwei District. In the Chung-hua Coastal Industrial Park, there are the second most electroplate and metal coating factories in Taiwan. Metal waste from the process of electroplating and coasting could easily pollute the tidal flat in Chang-hua Coastal Industrial Park. In order to prevent potential pollution taking place, this study took seawater, segment, and the aquatic organisms from the coast of the Chung-hua Coastal Industrial Park to monitoring the concentration level of copper(Cu), zinc(Zn), nickel(Ni), lead(Pb), chromium(Cr) and cadmium(Cd) in each index. The bioconcentration factor (BCF) indicates distinctions of accumulation in various matrixes. Especially from BCFW and BCFS demonstrate that soldier crab is a better index to illustrate the accumulation of Pb and Cr. Muricidae is a better index for showing Cd accumulating concentration. Furthermore, saccostreamordax is the best index for illustrating accumulative level of Ni. Oyster is better in showing accumulating of Cu and Zn. Though each organism shows distinct accumulation of particular metal, they can still illustrate the concentration of other selected metals to image the pollution of the environment. The comparison of metal accumulating levels in seawater, segment, and aquatic organisms from each test site demonstrated: the heavy metal concentration at site2 was much higher than at the other sites. The second most heavy metal concentration was at site6 and site8. Matrixes at site4 contained the lowest heavy metal concentration. The result was thought to be caused by current capacities of factories in three districts of Chang-hua Coastal Industrial Park. Site2 was at Hsienhsi Districtin, in which contained about 58% of factories in residence. In Lukang District, it reached the highest-77%-where was site 6 and site 8. In terms of Site4, it situated at Lunwei District, where was Lunwei Harbor Reservation with least development following by least capacity of factories. Furthermore, without a sound environmental-protection biological sewage treatment device, residues and chemical waste produced from various highly contaminant industries would bring about this concentration comparison result as well. ▼ In this study, we further research the switching mechanism during reset process in one-transistor-one-resistance random access memory (1T1R) devices. When conducting RRAM measurement, step voltage has a great influence on I-V characteristics. In this thesis, fast-IV measurement has been applied on a 1T1R RRAM to explore relations between input energy and switching speed by use of applying fixed period triangle pulse with different rising time. Experiments results shows as increasing input energy, the resistance switching speed will increase at the same time. In addition, heat effect to RRAM switching speed was also investigated, which was seldom discussed in previous studies. Environment factors in both high temperature (350K) and low temperature (77K) are investigated. We find the input energy easily dissipates in 77K temperature, making switching speed become slow. However, the input energy accumulates between conducting filament and electrode at 350K temperature, creating higher switching speed. Thus, the relation between input energy and switching speed has been proved. Moreover, we calculated the conduction filament temperature by the relationship between Ohmic conduction and temperature for verified the actual operating temperature during reset process. In addition, we proposed a model to explain the relationship between low resistance state, LRS and reset voltage. In relatively low and high resistance, the reset voltage was dominated by the quantity and distance of oxygen ions which were generated while set process. Moreover, an abnormal trend between low resistance state, LRS and reset voltage were observed in relatively middle resistance. We found out the abnormal trend between LRS and reset voltage was dominated by current thermal effect. Furthermore, the relationship between reset voltage and high resistance state (HRS) was further research. Under relatively high and low reset voltage, the resistance of HRS was dominated by the quantity and distance of controllable oxygen ions. On the other hand, the resistance of HRS was dominated by current thermal effect under relatively middle reset voltage. ▼ Kaohsiung Harbor is the largest international sea port in Taiwan, a lot of ships around the world pass in and out frequently, the pollution of organotin is very serious in the harbor area. Love River and Chien-Chen River may be polluted by the seawater tidal action from the Kaohsiung harbor. Domestic, industrial and agricultural wastewaters discharged into the upstream sections may also cause the pollution of organotin. The purposes of this study were to understand sources of organotin pollution by analying the content of organotin compounds and to monitor the organotin pollution of the rivers in Kaohsiung. Samples including surface sediments and riverwaters were collected from nineteen stations of Love River and Chien-Chen River. The results revealed that concentrations of MBT, DBT and TBT in the riverwaters of Love River varied between 13.4-43.6, 2.6-9.9 and ND-13.5 ng/L as tin. The concentrations of MBT, DBT and TBT in the riverwaters of Chien-Chen River were 3.1-28.1, 2.1-10.9 and ND-9.1 ng/L as tin, respectively. The concentrations of MBT, DBT and TBT in the surface sediments of Love River varied between 20.6-92.3, 7.6-26.2 and ND-15.4 ng/g as tin. The concentrations of MBT, DBT and TBT in the surface sediments of Chien-Chen River were in the range of 22.4-70.0, 6.4-14.1, ND-31.9 ng/g as tin, respectively. MBT and DBT were detected in all the samples of all the sampling stations of Love River and Chien-Chen River. Distribution of organotin compounds in riverwaters and surface sediments showed a consistency between these two rivers. No phenyltin pollution was detected at all stations, probably due to the decline in agricultural activities and the ban on utilizing triphenyltin acetate as pesticide. Except the highest organotin pollution appeared in the outfall of Love River and Chien-Chen River, other high values of pollution were found near the upper reaches of both rivers. ▼ In this study, we demonstrate completely different characteristics with different operating modes and analyze the electrical field effect to confirm the filament dissolution behavior. Compared with traditional double sweep method, the device exhibited a larger memory window when using a single voltage sweep method during reset process. The phenomenon was verified by using fast IâV measurement to simulate the two operating methods. In this work, the device applied with a very short rising time pulse was found to get a better high resistance state (HRS) and lower power consumption. Furthermore, we proposed the electrical field effect to explain the phenomenon and demonstrate distribution by COMSOL simulation. During operation with gradually increased voltage, range of effective electric field is limited due to the filament dissolution, caused by attracted oxygen ions under electric field. In the contrast, better high resistance state (HRS) can be acquired when directly applying the max voltage of device because the device obtains the biggest range of effective field and more oxygen ions could be drawn to undergo reset process. According to the above experiments, shorter rising time leads to higher resistance state of device. However, the result weâve got before was contrast; longer rising time can get a higher resistance. Therefore, we tried to figure out the differences between two experiments. After comparison, we found that the ranges of rising time of two experiments are different. We used Fast IV system to change the Rising time, including both experimental data, and discovered that the resistance state of device is not only resulted from one mechanism. It is considered that the effect of Rising time on Reset behavior can be divided into two mechanisms: thermal effect and electric field effect. In the case of extremely short rising time, the oxygen ions of device dominated by electric filed effect, leading to switching to better HRS at shorter pulse rising time. Contrast, in the case of extremely long rising time, the oxygen ions of device dominated by thermal effect. At this condition, longer rising time can control more oxygen ions, achieving the better resistance. Moreover, this work found out that the effects of falling time at two cases (electric field effect and thermal effect) are different. Under electric field effect, the variation of falling time would change the values of HRS of RRAM, which achieving higher HRS of RRAM at longer falling time. However, this phenomenon doesnât exist under the condition of thermal effect. Therefore, both of extremely short rising time and long enough falling time are needed for an ideal triangle pulse waveform. On the materials, silicon oxide is compatible to semiconductor fabrication lines. It is especially promising for the silicon oxide doped metal technology to be introduced into the industry. Furthermore, the multilayer stacked configuration of metal-doped silicon oxide is investigated for RRAM applications. We find that the operation current of RRAM can be effectively reduced and the performance of RRAM can also be improved. Based on that, double-ended graphene oxide doped silicon oxide based via-structure RRAM with filament self-aligning formation and self-current limiting operation ability is demonstrated. The device exhibits outstanding performance including high switching speed (~30ns) at low operation voltage, long endurance property (>1012 cycles), and read disturbance immunity (>1010 cycles), reasonable retention (>104s at 125 ÌC), and multilevel memorial state. The outstanding device characteristics are attributed to the oxidation and reduction of graphene oxide flakes formed during the sputter process. In addition, we have also adopted a new concept of supercritical CO2 fluid treatment to carry the supercritical water with high oxidizing ability into the resistive switching layer to efficiently reduce the operation current of RRAM devices for portable electronic applications. The characteristics of RRAM with ITO electrode can be verified by electrical measurement approach. We find that the resistance switching will take place in ITO electrode, from which the lower operating voltage and current can be achieved to effectively reduce the operating power of RRAM device. Finally, lithium silicon oxide (LiSiOx) RRAM component is used to simulate synaptic plasticity of neurons to imitate learning mechanism of neuron synapse. We demonstrate some important bionic features for the memory in the brain of animal, such as the significant features of spike time-dependent plasticity (STDP) for Hibernia learning (Hebb's learning), the properties of short-term memory (STM), and long-term memory (LTM). ▼ Abstract Studies of phase speciation of trace metals were conducted in Kaohsiung harbor and coastal areas in April and May 2002. Water samples were collected from three different sampling stations to study the spatial distribution of metal species. Colloidal and truly dissolved subsamples were observed by cross-flow filtration treatment. The results show that TOC of seawater samples ranged from 4.17 mg/L to 7.17 mg/L. For trace metals, zinc had the highest concentration(7.21 Î¼g/L â¼14.14 Î¼g/L), followed by manganese(3.31 Î¼g/L â¼ 11.73 Î¼g/L), copper(0.28 Î¼g/L â¼ 7.57 Î¼g/L), lead(2.41 Î¼g/L â¼ 4.41 Î¼g/L), nickel(1.78 Î¼g/L â¼ 2.97 Î¼g/L). Highest concentrations of TOC and metals were observed in Kaohsiung harbor(S1), and the values decreased in the order of S1 ï¼ S2 ï¼ S3. Distribution of phase speciation of trace metals varied with location. Nickel existed in truly dissolved phase predominately(66 ï¹ªat S1, 79.7 ï¹ªat S2 and 84.6 ï¹ªat S3). For the other metals, either particle or truly dissolved phase was the major species at each sampling station. For zinc, 56.1 ï¹ªat S1 was in truly dissolved phase, 68.1 ï¹ªat S2 and 59.6 ï¹ª at S3 were in particulate phase. For copper, 67.5 ï¹ªat S1 was in particulate phase, 56.7 ï¹ªat S2 and 89.9 ï¹ªat S3 were in truly dissolved phase. For manganese, 56.3 ï¹ªat S1 was in truly dissolved phase, 79.8 ï¹ªat S2 and 72.1 ï¹ªat S3 were in particulate phase. For lead, 51.7 ï¹ªat S1 and 66.0 ï¹ªat S3 were in truly dissolved phase, 63.5 ï¹ªat S2 was in particulate phase. The percentages of TOC and metals in colloidal phase of the filter-passing pool were low at all sampling stations and decreased in the order of S1 ï¼ S2 ï¼ S3. They were found predominately in truly dissolved fraction. The results also show that Kaohsiung harbor (S1) had the highest percentage of colloidal fraction, followed by coastal water (S2), open sea (S3). Values of partition coefficient between colloids and true solution(Kc ) in the Kaohsiung harbor and nearby coastal areas were lower than the Kc values observed in Galveston Bay during July 1995.
