1. Shieh, Ping-hung. Development of the Teacher Belief Scale.

Abstract The study aims to develop the Teacher Belief Scale. The subjects were 533 junior high school teachers in Kaohsiung, receiving the Teacher Belief Scale from March to June in 2009. There were four subscales in the scale, including the Teacher Role Identification Subscale, the Creative Teaching Behavior Subscale, the Student-centered Education Subscale, and the Multiple Learning Subscale. The results showed (1) Cronbachâs α for the subscales ranged from .629 to .790, with an overall Cronbachâs α of .810; (2) the male teachers got higher scores than the females in the Creative Teaching Behavior Subscale; (3) teachers who graduated from general universities got higher scores than those from normal universities in the Creative Teaching Behavior Subscale; (4) teachers with administrative position got higher scores than homeroom teachers and teachers with other service in overall Teacher Belief Scale; (5) teachers with administrative position got higher scores than homeroom teachers and teachers with other service in the Teacher Role Identification Subscale; (6) in the Creative Teaching Behavior subscale, teachers with administrative position got higher scores than homeroom teachers and full-time teachers; (7) in teaching experience, analyzed through Scheffe post-hoc comparison, only scores of teachers with 1-4 year experience were significantly higher than those of teachers with 5-9 year experience in the Student-centered Education Subscale; (8) there were no significant difference in teachersâ teaching subjects analyzed through Scheffe post-hoc comparison. 2. Hsu, Ya-ling. A Study of the Relationship between Teachersâ Leadership Behavior and Classroom Management Effectiveness in Kaohsiung Elementary Schools.

The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between teachersâ leadership behavior of elementary school and classroom management effectiveness. The subjects were sixth grade students of public elementary school in Kaohsiung. This study used stratified random sampling; 928 questionnaires were taken back including 895 ones valid, at a ratio of 96.44%. This study adopted questionnaire survey, âTeachersâ Leadership Behavior Scaleâ and âClassroom Management Effectiveness Scaleâ were used as instruments. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The conclusions of this study were as follows: 1. The present status of elementary school teachersâ leadership behavior is over the average. They perform best on âintellectual stimulationâ and âactive management-by-exception â but worst on âpassive management-by-exceptionâ. 2. The present status of elementary school teachersâ performance on classroom management effectiveness is over the average. They perform best on âteaching qualityâ but worst on âclass mannersâ. 3.Better performance in teachersâ leadership behavior was found for the ones who were female, 6 to 10 years of serving, and at schools with the scale under 24 classes. 4. Better performance in classroom management effectiveness was found for the ones who were female, 6 to 10 years of serving, at schools with the scale under 24 classes,and with the number of students between 21-30 in class. 5. The better is the teachersâ leadership behavior, the more outstanding is their classroom management effectiveness. There exists the strongest correlation between âindividualized considerationâ and âclassroom atmosphereâ. 6. Teachersâ leadership behavior is crucial in enhancing classroom management effectiveness. The prediction capability of âindividualized careâ for the whole classroom management effectiveness is the most significant.
