Abstract

This thesis presents a practical auto-tuned digital controller applicable to various kinds of hard switching dc-dc converters. Controller consists of three main functional blocks: i) an output current estimator which can obtain the instantaneous load current value for both direct and indirect energy transfer converters, ii) a conventional digital compensator for steady state regulation and, iii) a nonlinear digital module for fast transient response to minimize voltage deviation.
